Building Financial Clarity Since 2019

We started zavicoelexa because too many UK business owners were drowning in spreadsheets and guesswork. Six years later, we're still here—helping companies make sense of their numbers without the corporate nonsense.

Professional business budgeting consultation

From Frustration to Foundation

Back in 2019, we noticed something odd. Business owners kept telling us they hated budgeting—not because they didn't care about money, but because the tools and advice available felt disconnected from reality.

So we built something different. zavicoelexa focuses on practical financial education that actually fits how UK businesses operate. No jargon marathons. No promises of overnight transformation. Just straightforward budgeting approaches that help you understand where your money goes and why that matters.

We're based in Twyford, and most of our work happens with businesses across the United Kingdom. Our programmes typically run in autumn 2025 and spring 2026—giving participants time to implement what they learn before the next financial year hits.

How We Work

We've learned a few things about business budgeting over the years. Here's what shapes our teaching approach.

Reality-Based Numbers

We teach budgeting using actual business scenarios—not theoretical perfection. Your cash flow doesn't behave like a textbook example, and our programmes reflect that.

Paced Learning

Financial literacy takes time. Our courses run over several months so you can test concepts, make mistakes in a safe environment, and actually retain what you're learning.

Peer Discussion

Some of the best insights come from other business owners facing similar challenges. We facilitate conversations where people can share what's working—and what isn't.

Who Runs This Place

zavicoelexa is small on purpose. We'd rather do fewer programmes well than scale up and lose the personal touch that makes financial education actually useful.

Seren Whitlock, Finance Education Director at zavicoelexa

Seren Whitlock

Finance Education Director

Seren spent a decade in corporate finance before realizing she preferred teaching to auditing. She designs our curriculum and leads most of our autumn programmes. Outside work, she's usually running along the Thames Path or attempting to keep her allotment under control.

Briallen Thorpe, Business Strategy Consultant at zavicoelexa

Briallen Thorpe

Business Strategy Consultant

Briallen joined us in 2021 after running her own consultancy for eight years. She works with participants who need help applying budgeting concepts to specific business challenges. Her background in retail and hospitality means she gets the chaos of seasonal cash flow.

What Matters to Us

These aren't aspirational values we stuck on the wall. They're the principles that guide our decisions when we're designing courses, working with participants, or figuring out what zavicoelexa should do next.

Honest Limitations

We can't promise financial transformation or guaranteed business growth. What we can do is teach you budgeting frameworks that might help you make better decisions. The rest depends on your specific situation.

Continuous Learning

Business finance keeps changing. Tax rules shift, economic conditions evolve, and what worked in 2023 might not work in 2025. We update our content regularly and admit when we're still figuring something out ourselves.

Accessible Education

Financial literacy shouldn't require an accounting degree. We explain concepts in plain language and make sure our programmes are structured for people running businesses, not studying them in theory.

Our Autumn 2025 Programme Opens in July

We run two main programmes each year—one in autumn and one in spring. If you're interested in joining our September 2025 cohort, get in touch before summer. Spaces are limited because we keep groups small.
